SAINT PAUL — Today, Secretary of State Steve Simon announced the launch of a new Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State website — designed to improve the visual experience and better meet the needs of Minnesotans, whether those registering to vote or starting a small business. To view the new site, visit www.sos.state.mn.us.
The new site marks a dramatic departure from the previous version to one with a responsive design that’s user-tested and focused on making it easier for Minnesotans to find the information they’re looking for on all devices.
Additionally, it is the first time that all departments and applications — including popular tools such as registering to vote, searching business filings, or requesting an absentee ballot online — can be found on the same site. The Secretary of State’s website receives over one million unique visitors each year.
“The work we do in the Secretary of State’s office affects Minnesotans in all 87 counties of the state, whether that’s voters looking for their polling place on Election Day, entrepreneurs trying to set up and run their businesses, or survivors of domestic violence seeking to protect themselves and their family,” said Secretary Simon. “My office is always working to improve, to streamline, and to make it as easy as possible for Minnesotans to access the services we provide, and today we took a significant step in that direction.”
The updated site includes several new ways Minnesotans can stay up to date on the work Secretary Simon is doing on behalf of Minnesotans, including new pages on his initiatives and travels throughout the state, as well as a blog to highlight office updates, news coverage, and much more.
