Secretary Simon Appoints New Deputy Secretary of State for Operations

March 4, 2021

SAINT PAUL — Today, Secretary of State Steve Simon announced the appointment of Ann Lindstrom as the new Deputy Secretary of State for Operations – where she’ll have a broad range of responsibilities providing strategic guidance as well as providing oversight for large portions of the office.

“Ann Lindstrom is a talented, dedicated leader who comes to our office with a broad knowledge of our mission and our work. She’ll be an outstanding addition to our team in service to the people of Minnesota.”

Lindstrom arrives at the Office of the Secretary of State after more than eight years in government relations at the League of Minnesota Cities. Before that, she served in both state and municipal government.

Secretary Simon also announced that Julie Strother will serve as the new Deputy Secretary of State. She has served as Chief of Staff since February 2018, and has been with the office since 2013, before which she practiced law at a Minneapolis law firm.
