June 2015: Notice of Vacancies in State Boards, Councils and Committees

Application forms are available online and must be submitted by June 23, 2015, to assured of full consideration by the appointing authority.

SAINT PAUL — The Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State today released the June 2015 notice of vacancies for various state boards, councils and committees that are accepting applications, due June 23, 2015. Minnesotans are encouraged to apply and serve in demonstration of public service. The full list of vacancies is listed below and online.

Additionally, Minnesotans will now be able to find information and updates on new vacancies on Secretary of State Steve Simon’s official Facebook and Twitter pages. You can find those here:

Application forms are available online and must be submitted by June 23, 2015, to assured of full consideration by the appointing authority. Appointing authorities may choose to review applications received by the Secretary of State after June 23.

ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON HERITABLE AND CONGENITAL DISORDERS
Vacancies: One vacancy for other expert as needed representing related fields such as emerging technologies and health insurance (M.S. 144.1255)

BOARD OF BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AND THERAPY
Vacancies: One vacancy for a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor

BOARD OF DIETETICS AND NUTRITION PRACTICE

Vacancies: Twenty-One vacancies including:
One representative of academics, informatics training, and education in health professional schools;

OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH ADVISORY COUNCIL
Vacancies: One Labor Member

SUBCOMMITTEE ON CHILDREN'S MENTAL HEALTH
Vacancies: One representative of educators currently working with children who have emotional disturbances.

TASK FORCE ON HEALTH CARE FINANCING
Vacancies: Twenty-Nine seats including:
Eleven members appointed by the Governor, to include public and private health care experts and consumer representatives. The consumer representatives must include on member from a nonprofit organization with legal expertise representing low-income consumers, at least one member from a broad-based nonprofit consumer advocacy organization, and at least one member from an organization representing consumers of color.
Seven members appointed by the Senate, to include four members appointed by the Majority Leader of the Senate, one of whom must be a legislator, and three members appointed by the Minority Leader of the Senate, one of whom must be a legislator; and
Seven members appointed by the House of Representatives, to include four members appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, one of whom must be a legislator; and three members appointed by the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, one of whom must be a legislator.

The monthly Notice of Vacancies is posted on the first Monday of every month and is provided by email to those who subscribe for the notice.

In accordance with the Minnesota Open Appointments Law, the Secretary of State acts as an administrator in publishing vacancies, receiving applications and recording appointments. Applications will be reviewed and appointments made by the appointing authorities; questions about specific vacancies and appointments should be directed to the appointing authority. Applications are kept on file for a one-year period.
