SAINT PAUL — Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon today released the 2018 Campaign Manual. The 2018 Manual includes general information for candidates on campaign financial reporting and fair campaign practices. The updated 2018 manual also includes information on campaign cybersecurity and a “filing for office” checklist.
“The 2018 Campaign Manual is intended to increase ballot accessibility for all Minnesotans,” said Secretary of State Simon. “As Minnesotans, we pride ourselves on civic engagement. Running for office should not be a daunting task, and I hope that this manual makes it easier for every candidate seeking elected office.”
The filing period for all Federal, State, Judicial, and County Offices runs from May 22, 2018, through June 5, 2018.
Information on candidate filings for office and campaigning is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at the Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State’s “Become a Candidate” webpage located at: http://www.sos.state.mn.us/election-administration-campaigns/become-a-candidate/. Accessible and fillable versions of many forms and other information are available online.
Paper copies of the 2018 Campaign Manual will be available after May 1, 2018.
