August 2015: Notice of Vacancies in State Boards, Councils and Committees

Application forms are available online and must be submitted by August 25, 2015, to assured of full consideration by the appointing authority.

SAINT PAUL — The Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State today released the August 2015 notice of vacancies for various state boards, councils and committees that are accepting applications, due August 25, 2015. Minnesotans are encouraged to apply and serve in demonstration of public service. The full list of vacancies is listed below and online.

Application forms are available online and must be submitted by August 25, 2015, to assured of full consideration by the appointing authority. Appointing authorities may choose to review applications received by the Secretary of State after August 25.

CURRENT VACANCIES

ADVISORY COMMITTEE: BLIND AND VISUALLY IMPAIRED
Vacancies: Five Seats including one Department of Employment and Economic Development Representative; one Non-Profit Agency Representative; one Student Representative; one Teacher Representative; and, one Parent Representative.

ADVISORY COUNCIL ON WATER SUPPLY SYSTEMS AND WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITIES
Vacancies: Two Seats including one Municipalities Organization Representative and one Non-Municipal Water Supply System Operator.

AGRICULTURE RESEARCH, EDUCATION, EXTENSION, AND TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER ADVISORY PANEL
Vacancies: Four Seats including one Representative of an Association of Primary Manufacturers of Forest Products; one Representative of Organic or Sustainable Agriculture; one Representative of Statewide Environment and Natural Resource Conservation Organizations; and, one Representative of Agriculture Industry Statewide.

BOARD OF PEACE OFFICER STANDARDS AND TRAINING
Vacancies: One Seat for Higher Education Administrator

Vacancies: Two seats including one Pharmacist Representative and Public Member

GOVERNOR'S INTERAGENCY COORDINATING COUNCIL ON EARLY CHILDHOOD INTERVENTION
Vacancies: Two seats including one County Social Services director and one MN Department of Education Representative.

GOVERNOR'S WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT BOARD
Vacancies: 15 Seats. Members must come from businesses that provide employment and training opportunities that include high-quality, work-relevant training, and development opportunities in the in-demand industry sectors of Health Care and Social Assistance, Construction, Business and Professional Services, Manufacturing or natural Resources (Agriculture and Mining).
Representatives of small business, minority-owned and women-owned businesses are encouraged to apply.

Vacancies: One seat – Environmental Organization Representative

The monthly Notice of Vacancies is posted on the first Monday of every month and is provided by email to those who subscribe for the notice.

In accordance with the Minnesota Open Appointments Law, the Secretary of State acts as an administrator in publishing vacancies, receiving applications and recording appointments. Applications will be reviewed and appointments made by the appointing authorities; questions about specific vacancies and appointments should be directed to the appointing authority. Applications are kept on file for a one-year period.
