State Canvassing Board Meets and Certifies August 14 Primary Election Results

ST. PAUL, Minn.—August  21, 2012—Minnesota Secretary of State Mark Ritchie today announced that the State Canvassing Board met this morning and made official the results of August 14 State Primary Election.

There were no automatic recounts for any state or federal elected office.  However, a discretionary recount in State House District 59B for the DFL nomination has been requested by Terra Cole, House District 59B candidate.  This recount will be conducted by Hennepin County.  The candidate who requested the recount will pay $1,500 to Hennepin County to cover the cost for the recount.

“I want to thank Minnesota election officials for their expertise and work on successfully administering the first election since redistricting. I also want to express my appreciation to the State Canvassing Board members for their public service,” said Secretary of State Ritchie.
