Filing for office is the process by which a candidate’s name gets placed on the ballot. These requirements vary depending on several factors including: 1) the office sought; 2) whether or not it is a partisan office or non-partisan office; and 3) whether the candidate is running as a member of a Major Political Party, a Minor Political Party, a member of some other political party, or as an independent. To assist candidates, we offer brochures on Guide for Candidates and Guide for Candidates Running for Partisan Office as a Minor Party or Independent Candidate.
