Directions to the State Office Building
Since parking is limited during legislative sessions, busing may be easier. The Office of the Secretary of State is located in Room 180 of the State Office Building. The State Office Building is located on the following bus lines: 3, 16, 50, and 94B. Call Metro Transit at (612) 373-3333, or click here to go their Web site.

The State Office Building is located to the north of I-94 just minutes from downtown St. Paul. It is accessible from the east and west on I-94, and from the north and south on I-35E.

I-94 eastbound:

  • Exit at Marion Street. Turn left.
  • Go to Aurora Ave. and turn right.
  • There is a pay lot at the corner of Aurora Ave. and Rice St.
I-94 westbound:
  • Exit at Marion Street. Turn right.
  • Go to Aurora Ave. and turn right.
  • There is a pay lot at the corner of Aurora Ave. and Rice St.
I-35E northbound:
  • Exit at Kellogg Boulevard. Turn left.
  • Go to John Ireland Boulevard and turn right.
  • Metered parking spaces line both sides of the boulevard.
I-35E southbound:
  • Exit at University Avenue. Turn right.
  • Go to Rice Street and turn left.
  • Go one block, and there is a pay lot at the corner of Aurora Ave. and Rice St.
Where to Park Near the State Office Building
Public metered parking is available at the corner of Rice Street and Aurora Ave. on the west side of the State Office Building. Visitors may also park in Lot F, next to the Transportation Building near Aurora Avenue and Rice Street. Public street metered parking is available along John Ireland Boulevard and Fuller Avenue, which are near the Transportation Building. St. Paul meter patrols will issue tickets for expired parking.

Handicapped parking is available in Lot F on the west side of the Transportation Building. Additional handicapped parking is located directly behind the Capitol (Lot N), west of the State Office Building and in most other lots in the Capitol complex.
