The Office of the Secretary of State Elections Counter is located in Room 180 of the State Office Building. The State Office Building is located to the north of I-94 just minutes from downtown St. Paul. It is accessible from the east and west on I-94, from the north and south on I-35E, and on multiple bus lines.  Scroll down for details.

Driving Directions from:

I-94 eastbound
  • Exit at Marion Street. Turn left.
  • Go to Aurora Ave. and turn right.
  • There is a pay lot at the corner of Aurora Ave. and Rice St.
  • I-94 westbound
  • Exit at Marion Street. Turn right.
  • Go to Aurora Ave. and turn right.
  • There is a pay lot at the corner of Aurora Ave. and Rice St.
  • I-35E northbound
  • Exit at Kellogg Boulevard. Turn left.
  • Go to John Ireland Boulevard and turn right.
  • Metered parking spaces line both sides of the boulevard.
  • I-35E southbound
  • Exit at University Avenue. Turn right.
  • Go to Rice Street and turn left.
  • Go one block, and there is a pay lot at the corner of Aurora Ave. and Rice St.
  • Using transit to get to the State Office Building
    Since parking is limited during legislative sessions, busing may be easier. The State Office Building is located on multiple bus lines, including the 3, 16, 50, 62, 67, and 94B. To get bus information, call Metro Transit at (612) 373-3333, or visit http://www.metrotransit.org.

    Parking near the State Office Building
    Public metered parking is available in Lot AA, at the northwest corner of Rice Street and Aurora Avenue, and in Lot F, on the west side of the Transportation Building off of Rice Street. Metered city street parking is available along Aurora Avenue (north of Sears), and along John Ireland Boulevard (near the Transportation Building). St. Paul meter patrols will issue tickets for expired parking.

    Handicapped parking is available in Lot F on the west side of the Transportation Building. Additional handicapped parking is located Lot N directly behind the Capitol and in most other lots in the Capitol complex.
