Minnesota is looking for bright, responsible, innovative leaders in our communities who are eager to serve on state councils, boards, task forces, and commissions. The Office of the Secretary of State strongly encourages Minnesotans to apply through its open appointments process.

How to apply for an open appointment?  

This office forwards completed applications to the appropriate appointing authorities for consideration.

The Open Appointments Annual Report provides more information describing the councils, boards, task forces, and commissions, as well as member rosters and aggregate statistical information about the appointments made.
