The Office of Secretary of State has begun a rulemaking process related to the Safe at Home program. This process is designed to be transparent and involve community participation. The office seeks feedback several times during the rulemaking process by requesting comments on the proposed rules. Comments received are carefully considered as the office crafts rule drafts.
Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 14.366 (2012) requires each agency to maintain a current, public rulemaking docket.
Although the request for comments indicates a deadline of September 3, 2013, comments and questions about the possible rules may be submitted any time during the rulemaking process. Comments received during the official comment periods will become part of the formal rulemaking record.
