2011-2012 Minnesota Legislative Manual "Blue Book" Dedication was held May 18The Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State dedicated the 2011-2012 Minnesota Legislative Manual "Blue Book" on May 18, 2011 during a program held in the State Capitol Rotunda. The 2011-2012 "Blue Book" commemorates the 150th Anniversary of the Civil War and is filled with Civil War history and trivia.
Program speakers included: Governor Mark Dayton, Former Governor Albert Quie, Dr. William Green, Representative Dean Urdahl and Adjutant General Richard Nash. Secretary of State Mark Ritchie was the Master of Ceremonies.
In addition to the program in the rotunda, a Civil War Sesquicentennial Day Capitol Event was held and featured a Civil War information fair, Civil War re-enactors, and Civil War Capitol tours. Three Civil War cannons that were presented to the famous First Minnesota Infantry Regiment were on display inside the rotunda and on the Capitol grounds. Minnesota Supreme Court Justice Paul H. Anderson provided a historical presentation in the court chambers. The Minnesota Historical Society had Civil War historical artifacts on display.
