Special Election Scheduled. The governor has issued a Writ of Special Election to fill a vacancy in House District 5B. Representative Tony Sertich has been appointed as Commissioner of the Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation Board (IRRRB) and resigned effective January 13, 2011 (press release). House District 5B includes much of southern St. Louis county.
