I'd like to thank my dad for his service to our nation. After his brother and cousin were killed in Korea, dad enlisted in the Navy. He was the last son at home with aging parents. He didn't have to go, but did.   Due to an injury while on active duty, my dad has a considerable service connected disability.  Regardless of the pain he has lived with daily, since before I was born, he rarely complains and raised all four of his children on a farm and made a very good life for us. We had a lot of fun.  Dad, by example, walks his faith, flies a flag in his yard everyday and is perseverance personified...he never quits. He still actively farms.  My dad is my hero.
