Presidential-only absentee ballot


If you moved from Minnesota to another state between October 9 and November 8, 2016 and are not eligible to vote in your new state, you can still vote for president and vice-president.

To apply for a Presidential-Only Absentee Ballot, complete this application and return it to your county election office

You will be mailed a ballot that contains only the candidates for president and vice-president. For your ballot to count, it must be received back by your county election office by Election Day, Tuesday, November 8.

I am moving away from Minnesota

If you move from Minnesota to another state within 30 days before Election Day, you might not be eligible to vote in your new state.

In this case, you can send a Presidential Absentee Application to the county election office of the county you last resided in. You will receive a ballot for U.S. president and vice-president.

To be eligible, you must have moved from Minnesota between Sunday, October 9, 2016 and Tuesday, November 8 (Election Day).
