July 2016: Notice of Vacancies in State Boards, Councils and Committees

Application forms are available online and must be submitted by July 27, 2016, to be assured of full consideration by the appointing authority.

SAINT PAUL — The Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State today released the July 2016 notice of vacancies for various state boards, councils and committees that are accepting applications, due July 27, 2016. Minnesotans are encouraged to apply and serve in demonstration of public service. The full list of vacancies is listed below and online.

Application forms are available online and must be submitted by July 27, 2016, to be assured of full consideration by the appointing authority. Appointing authorities may choose to review applications received by the Secretary of State after July 27.

BOARD OF EXAMINERS FOR NURSING HOME ADMINISTRATORS
Vacancies: One Public Member

BOARD OF PRIVATE DETECTIVE AND PROTECTIVE AGENT SERVICES
Vacancies: One Seat - Protective Agent Representative who must be a licensed protective agent, or qualified representative for a licensed protective agent partnership or corporation.

BOARD OF THE PERPICH CENTER FOR ARTS EDUCATION
Vacancies: One seat – for a term expiring January 7, 2019.

CHILD SUPPORT TASK FORCE
Vacancies: Four Parent Members including:
- Custodial Parent with a past or present child support case
- Non-Custodial Parent with a past or present child support case
- At least two parent appointees must be a representative of a diverse social or cultural community

COUNCIL FOR MINNESOTANS OF AFRICAN HERITAGE
Vacancies: Two Members - One vacancy for a term ending January 2, 2017, and One vacancy for a term ending January 1, 2018.

COUNCIL ON ASIAN-PACIFIC MINNESOTANS
Vacancies: One Member of Vietnamese Ancestry.

CRIMINAL AND JUVENILE JUSTICE INFORMATION TASK FORCE
Vacancies: Four Public Members - representing both metropolitan and greater Minnesota, one of whom represents the interests of victims and one of whom represents the private business community who has expertise in integrated information systems

DRUG UTILIZATION REVIEW BOARD
Vacancies: Four seats including one Consumer Representative, one Physician Member, and two Pharmacist members.

GOVERNOR'S COUNCIL ON MINNESOTA'S LAKE SUPERIOR COASTAL PROGRAM
Vacancies: One Member - Cook County

HEALTH SERVICES POLICY COMMITTEE aka HEALTH SERVICES ADVISORY COUNCIL
Vacancies: Six seats including:
- Two licensed physicians actively engaged in the practice of medicine in Minnesota;
- Two licensed physicians who represent a health plan currently under contract to serve medical assistance recipients;
- One licensed physician specialist actively practicing their profession in Minnesota, and,
- One licensed physician actively engaged in the practice of medicine in Minnesota, and whose practice includes being actively engaged in the treatment of persons with mental illness.

MATERNAL AND CHILD HEALTH ADVISORY TASK FORCE
Vacancies: Two members with expertise in maternal and child health services.

MINERAL COORDINATING COMMITTEE
Vacancies: Two seats including - one Iron Ore and Taconite Industry Representative and one Labor Representative.

Vacancies: Two Public Members – who use assistive technology or are a family member or guardian of an individual who uses assistive technology.

Vacancies: Four members from the General Public. All applicants should be experienced in business or economic development. One member must be a representative from a veteran-owned business. One member must be a representative from a business owned by a person with disabilities.

NEWBORN HEARING SCREENING ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Vacancies: Six Seats including:
- One Otolaryngologist

The monthly Notice of Vacancies is posted on the first Monday of every month and is provided by email to those who subscribe for the notice.

In accordance with the Minnesota Open Appointments Law, the Secretary of State acts as an administrator in publishing vacancies, receiving applications and recording appointments. Applications will be reviewed and appointments made by the appointing authorities; questions about specific vacancies and appointments should be directed to the appointing authority. Applications are kept on file for a one-year period.
